Hi dads. Just a little heads up about a spate of buggy/pushchair thefts that have been occuring in East Finchley. Three of my neighbours have had theirs taken from their doorsteps. Thieves then sell them on Ebay or for scrap metal. So if you can it's better to keep them in the house. Over and out...

Open on Strike Day!

The Dads Club will be open as usual next Wednesday 30th November. Opening times are 9am-12pm.

Christmas Drink 14th December!

This years Christmas drink will be on Wednesday 14th December at our old favourite 'The Wrestlers' pub on North Hill, Highgate, N6 4AA.

Festivites will begin at 7.30 pm. See you there!

Dads Club on Wednesdays

As you may know we have lost our funding and are no longer a Surestart centre. However thanks to the hard work by the staff at Highgate Primary School we are still open on Wednesday mornings 9-12. There is now a charge of £3 per child and £2 per additional sibling. Horay! We're still open!

SAVE THE DADS' CLUB! Consultation Friday 8th April at 10am

Due to spending cuts our Dads Club is under threat of closure. If you value our group & it's wonderful venue & staff then please attend the consultation and make your voice heard.

It will be held at Highgate Primary School.

It would be a tragedy if the group was to close. We need the Childrens Centre!

Newstead Parent meeting on Wednesday night.

There will be a meeting of Newstead parents in the conservatory of 'The Five Bells' pub this Wednesday from 7pm. It will be to discuss the future of the Childrens' Centre. However I don't think we should rock the boat until we know for sure that Newstead will be closed. I agree with Sajni that we don't want to stand out or we might be singled out by the council!

Christmas Drink on Thursday 16th December!

Hi dads! It's been a long year and we all deserve an evening out. This year The dads club festive drink will be on thursday 16th Dec from 7pm at The Wrestlers pub on North Hill, Highgate. It's only a few minutes walk up the hill from Highgate primary school.
It has a log fire, smoking area & late license.

As usual make sure your freedom pass has been stamped as I don't want to be held responsible for causing any domestics.

Minister to visit Dads Club on 17th September!

Lynne Featherstone will be visiting the Dads Club on Friday 17th September! She has just been made Junior Home Office Minister for Equality and is interested in the good work we do! Be there between 9am-12pm for your chance to have a chat with her!

Dads Club open during the summer hols!

The Dads' Club will be open all summer except for the 2 middle weeks in August (9th-20th).
Apart from that it will be buissness as usual at The Highgate Childrens Centre, Gaskell Road.
Opening hours are Wednesdays & Fridays 9am-12pm.

Independence (dads picnic) Day

Dear dads,

We will be having a picnic at Highgate Wood this Sunday 4th July. Feel free to bring wives/partners (and of course kids!)

We'll meet at 1pm at a gazeebo in the playing field.

Bring a dish/drink.

Dads Club now on Fridays too!

Great News! Dads Club will now be running on friday mornings as well as wednesdays!

Tomorrow (25-06-2010) we will be opening slightly later at 10.30am but then we'll be returning to our regular time of 9am-12pm.

Save 'Little Dinosaurs'!

A small group of dog walkers and one local resident have mounted a campaign to close 'Little Dinosaurs'. It's the only play centre of its kind (with a large outdoor space) in this area.

Members of the dads club celebrate the birth of baby Isaac.

Wetting the baby's head this Wednesday!

Hi all! Come down to Maddens bar, East finchley High Road this wednesday from 7pm to help me celebrate the birth of my son, Isaac.

They will also be showing live coverage of Arsenal v Barcelona.


I'm supposed to be going down to No.10 Downing Street (to be honored for my service to fathers) but I figured Maddens would be more fun!

The Dads Club Playgroup now provides free football coaching for the kids!

Kick off is at 10am on Wednesdays @ The Dads Club Playgroup, Highgate Childrens' Centre.
